About

DSC_0090

HER STORY GOES is an online haven created by women, for women. It is both a celebration of the feminine spirit and a blog about the ordinary life made lovely.

Have you ever experienced the rush of adrenaline and complete sense of belonging that a 3+ hour long conversation with your girlfriend(s) can create? It’s the moment you feel on top of the world because someone just gets you. They understand what you’re going through, perhaps they can even relate—and most of all, they care. That intense feeling of connection between women is what sparked the idea for this blog.

It all began with two best friends, a few cups of coffee and the notion that femininity can be powerful. That all women, even two small-town girls, have something to say. That our stories—imperfect and uncertain—are utterly remarkable.

Our goal is to give life to a space for honest, relatable conversation and inspiration for all women. Faced with the challenges of negative and often harmful media, we strive to provide women with a message that’s a little different. Hope, bravery, authenticity, sisterhood.

For wherever you are on your journey, we hope you’ll find a little joy here.

This is how her story goes.

WE BELIEVE

We believe in doing what you love and loving what you do. In living intentionally, and embracing each morning with passion and purpose.

We believe that life is an ever-evolving journey, and that every moment is another opportunity to spread joy, to learn, and to grow into our best selves.

We believe in the healing power of words and the saving grace of sisterhood. In all of the little things—big belly laughs, creamy cappuccinos, enriching novels, outdoor walks—that make us whole.

We believe in leading lives of both candor and virtue, even—and especially—when it’s tough. In more than making it through each day, but in making each day lovely. In not only appreciating beauty, but creating it, embodying it, and sharing it.

We believe that femininity is our greatest strength.

  • NEW POST: On Making the Hard Decisions // "Without a specific career path to follow, I was lost. Useless. Forced back to the drawing board of my life, and staring at a blank slate. In the two years that followed, I worked several part-time jobs to bide my time before the pressure to pick something substantial and long-term became too much. I knew deep down what I wanted to pursue, but after my brief stint in publishing, the idea of committing to any one thing made me nervous. I had already gone down a wrong path, and I didn't want to make the same mistake twice." 📃 by @emilyblasik, 📸 by @letyi.

  • My brother's beau @tylerohtyler happened to catch me, my mom, and my cousin practicing our Easter egg dyeing skills this weekend. Personally, I think we could be professionals. 🐰
  • NEW POST: Jogging is the Worst, Part III // At last, the conclusion to @ebaie787's 3-part series on becoming a runner is on the blog! It turns out it was about the journey all along. The inspiring HSG contributor managed to cross the finish line on her own two feet but was surprised that she ended up taking more away from her first 10K than just a sweet finisher's medal. 🏅 Link in bio! #shethrives
